STANDARDS

Expway is involved in a number of different standardization processes including DVB, MPEG-7, MPEG21, ARIB, TV-ANYTIME, 3GPP, W3C, and DAB.

For these standards, we provide an extensible and adaptive solution to manage efficiently XML data. Our technologies offer a set of features which allows a fine and efficient use of XML without compromising interoperability:

• Adaptive compression (ability to tune the compression efficiently in order to improve search capabilities or to reduce CPU consumption).
• Streaming capabilities
  • create XML streams to adapt the XML consumption to transport
    characteristics (bi-directional or unidirectional)
  • order XML packets to fast the access to data and/or get rights
    information at the right time (synchronisation with an order media or synchronisation with the timeline of the XML data itself (e.g. SMIL))
  • encrypt part of the XML stream.
• Light decoders which fasten the access to data and offers efficient search capabilities.
