Qualcomm joins LTE-Broadcast Alliance
The LTE-Broadcast (LTE-B) Alliance announced today Qualcomm as the newest member of the Alliance.
The LTE-B Alliance was founded in 2016 by some of the world’s leading mobile network operators to further the evolution and deployment of LTE-B technology. Since the inception of the Alliance a broad range of members from across the network operator, broadcast and technology industries have signed up to join.
While originally LTE-B use cases focussed on mass consumption of video such as a live sporting events in a stadium, the LTE-B Alliance now envisages a broad range of applications including delivery of mass software and application updates to devices, Mission Critical Push-to-Talk, and pre-loading of content on devices.
Together with the founding organizations and existing partners, the new members will continue to support and promote the development of the LTE-B ecosystem.
The LTE-B Alliance represents more than 370 million mobile subscribers worldwide.
Mobile network operators, device manufacturers, and chipset makers are welcome to join and take part in the global adoption of this revolutionary technology. For information on how to join LTE-B Alliance, email LTEBalliance@team.telstra.com or visit www.lte-broadcast-alliance.com
